Annalakshmi is unique in Singapore — and globally rare. There are no prices on the menu. Diners eat a full vegetarian meal and at the end decide what to pay, based on what they think the meal was worth and what they can afford. The restaurant is run entirely by volunteers connected to the Temple of Fine Arts, a global Hindu arts foundation. Profits fund Indian classical music, dance, and cultural programmes worldwide. The name honours Annapurna, the Hindu goddess of food. It's been operating in Singapore since 1986.
