IndiainSG is a directory of Indian Singapore — the restaurants, grocery stores, sari shops, sweet shops, tailors, jewellers, temples and other businesses that make up India's culinary and cultural presence across the island.

What's here

A curated layer of editor's picks: places we've researched and consider worth knowing — Michelin-starred restaurants, century-old institutions, Singapore-Indian inventions like fish-head curry, and the businesses that anchor each Indian neighbourhood. Currently 48 places, growing.

A live discovery layer powered by Google Places: when you select an area and category, the site pulls every Indian business Google knows about in that area — restaurants, mini-marts, salons, jewellers — and shows them on the map alongside the curated picks.

A stories section: trivia and history — why fish-head curry was invented in Singapore, what 'Tekka' means in Hokkien, why a road called 'Race Course' is now Singapore's curry strip, how a Penang chef won two Michelin stars in Singapore.

How to use it

Open the map. Tap an area, tap a category, browse the results. Use Near me to find Indian places within walking distance of you. Use search to look for a specific dish, restaurant or shop. Tap any place to see its details, get directions, or read its story (where there is one).

Suggesting a place

Phase 1 doesn't have a submission form yet — that's coming in Phase 2. If you know an Indian business that should be on the curated list, or notice a detail that needs updating, please reach out (contact details below).

A note on the data

Restaurant addresses, hours and phone numbers change. We do our best to keep curated entries current, but for live (Google-sourced) results the data is as fresh as Google's index. Always call ahead for hours or special arrangements.
