Singapore's Deepavali light-up along Serangoon Road is among the largest outside India — a kilometre of arches, peacocks, oil lamps, and figures from Hindu mythology that transforms the Little India streetscape for about six weeks before Deepavali night. The Little India Shopkeepers and Heritage Association has coordinated it since the 1980s, working with the URA. The 2024 light-up themed itself around Lord Krishna; each year's theme rotates. The Deepavali Festival Village around Hastings Road operates during this period with food stalls, sari vendors, and live performances. It's free to walk through, and free to photograph.
