The story

Founded by Mustaq Ahmad's family in 1971 as a tiny textile shop on Campbell Lane, Mustafa grew through the 1980s into a department store, then a 24-hour multi-floor empire that effectively created its own ecosystem. By the 2000s it was the de facto first stop for new migrants from the subcontinent — groceries, remittances, SIM cards, gold for weddings, electronics, all under one roof. The 24-hour model wasn't a marketing gimmick; it served shift workers and weekend planners. It remains family-run.
